Gary Wayne Heffron, 67, of De Soto died Aug. 7, 2024. Mr. Heffron worked in construction and owned his own company. In his free time, he enjoyed listening to music, tinkering around the house and working with his hands. He was known in the De Soto community for his dedication to the city council. He served as the mayor of De Soto and was known for his work in planning and zoning and the De Soto City Cemetery. Born March 30, 1957, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late James Wallace and Violet (Smith) Heffron.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Judy Lynn Heffron.
He is survived by three daughters: Julie (Timothy) Heffron-Hood of De Soto, Michelle Heffron of De Soto and Rachel Heffron of De Soto; a brother: Randy (Nancy) Heffron of Blackwell; a sister: Diane (Tom) Heffron-Brooks of St. Charles; eight grandchildren: Matthew, Jacob, Lauren, Kayden, Amber, Addison, Zachary Jr. and Keith; and many other family members and friends.
He also was preceded in death by a brother: Ronald Heffron.
Services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.
