Gary Daniel “Bodyman” McCain, 60, of Bloomsdale died April 3, 2024, at his home. Mr. McCain loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. His faith was very important to him. Born Jan. 3, 1964, in Festus, he was the son of Carol Sue Courtney (Bob) Papin of Festus and George Michael McCain Sr. of Barnhart.
He is survived by three children: Steven Daniel McCain of Bloomsdale, Kristy Nicole McCain of St. Charles and Keith Daniel (Taralyn) McCain of Pevely; five siblings: Joseph Alan (Stephanie Haas) McCain of Pevely, Teresa Sue (James) Robinson of Festus, Debra Kay (Lance) Smith of Wildwood, Tammy Lynn McCain of Barnhart and Tracy Ann (Mike) Van Dyke of Hillsboro; eight grandchildren: River McCain, Oliver and Stella Matthews expected in May, Addalyne McCain, Eleanor McCain, Charlotte McCain, Brinley McCain expected in July and Dianna June “DJ” Clark.
He was preceded in death by a brother: George Michael “Mike” McCain Jr.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home, 9115 Commercial Blvd., in Pevely. A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, April 11, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Scott Parker of Calvary Chapel Festus. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Pevely. Memorials may be made to Great Commission Ministries. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home.
