Morse, Frederick

Frederick Livingston Morse, 87, of Barnhart died Oct. 17, 2024. Mr. Morse was known for his dedication. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a pipefitter with Laborers Union 42. Above all, his greatest love was for his family. He will be remembered for his service, hard work and devotion to his family. Born May 26, 1937, in Waltham, Mass., he was the son of the late Irving O. and Mae Louise (Vaughn) Morse.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Mary Ann Morse; two children: Linda King and Vicky (Ken) Akins; six grandchildren: Brian Weisler, Craig Morse, Nickole (Sam) Hosang, Sara Akins, Susan (Nick) Modglin and Xander Akins; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: Irving O. Morse Jr. and George H. Morse.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Chapel Hill Mortuary-Robert Brown Chapel, 103 4th St., in Hillsboro. Services are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the mortuary’s chapel. Burial will immediately follow in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
