Evelyn “Marie” Walther, 89, of De Soto died Oct. 27, 2024, at Baisch Nursing Center in De Soto. Mrs. Walther will be remembered for being sweet-natured. She was a Christian and enjoyed listening to the Bible and music, doing word searches and visiting with family and friends. Born March 8, 1935, in Blackwell, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Alice Sansoucie.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Alfred Walther.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Gayle Walther (Richard) Lane of De Soto; four grandchildren and their spouses: Kimberly, Tiffany, Julie and Mary Ann; eight great-grandchildren: Samantha, Sydney, Maia, Penelope, Charli, Augustine, Novella, and McClain; two brothers and their spouses: Edward and Howard Sansoucie; a sister: Elsie Moreland; and numerous other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by a son: Mark; and six siblings: Freddie, Virginia, Wanda, Bernard, Glen and Earl.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at Mahn Funeral Home De Soto Chapel, 900 N. Main St. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Masonic Cemetery in Blackwell. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
