Earl W. Crutchley, 86, of Arnold died March 14, 2026. Mr. Crutchley worked in the sugar industry, served in the National Guard and was of the Methodist faith. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling and watching football and hockey. Born Jan. 20, 1940, in Bloomington, Ill., he was the son of the late Mildred Wade Crutchley and Earl A. Crutchley.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Janet Cira Crutchley of Arnold; three children: Kathy (Art) Smith of Imperial, Tim (Kristen) Crutchley of Arnold and David (Lori) Crutchley of Arnold; six grandchildren: Matt Smith of Imperial, Alex Smith of Barnhart, Conner Crutchley of St. Louis, Cameron Crutchley of Arnold, Kaitlyn Thompson of St. Louis and Kennady Crutchley of Arnold; seven great-grandchildren: Edison, Hattie and Conway Smith of Barnhart, Ryker and Everett Smith of Imperial and Abraham and Cecelia Crutchley of St. Louis; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son: James Crutchley.
Services were held on March 21 at Kutis South County Chapel in St. Louis County, officiated by Deacon Steve Schisler. Interment was in Holy Family Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements were under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
