Dick Courtois, 83, of De Soto died Oct. 9, 2025. Mr. Courtois worked for Bell Telephone and AT&T. He also served in the National Guard. Born Aug. 30, 1942, in Blackwell, he was the son of the late John Richard Courtois Sr. and Helen (Thost) Baker. He was the stepson of the late Walter “Brownie” Baker.
He is survived by five siblings: Judie Trask, Betty Sampson, Barbara Baker, Mary DeClue and Terry Baker, all of De Soto; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Janet Hess; and a brother: Garry Baker.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at noon Tuesday, Nov. 4, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
