Cain, Diane

Diane T. (Bauer) Cain, 82, of St. Louis died Aug. 28, 2025. Mrs. Cain loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, whom she enjoyed taking on shopping trips and making memories with. She also had a passion for crafts and a love for animals. A lifelong fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the St. Louis Cardinals, she rarely missed a game and cheered on her teams with great enthusiasm. She and her husband shared a love for adventure, often traveling by motorcycle, and enjoyed boating and going on horseback rides together. She will be remembered for living a full and vibrant life. Born Jan. 15, 1943, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Cecilia (Kramer) and Thomas Bauer.

She is survived by her husband of many years: Edward “Jim” Cain; four children: Jim (Jennifer) Cain, Jeff (Debbie Shearer) Cain, Jackie (Doug) Nelson and Greg Cain; nine grandchildren: Mitchell, Madi, Cy, Sarah, Nichole, Megan, Leah, Gregory and Nic; eight great-grandchildren; a sister: Joyce (Rod) Vos; and a brother-in-law Skip Moore.

She was preceded in death by three sisters: Dolores Moore, Laura Caldwell and Marlene (John) Shelton.

Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Chapel Hill Mortuary-Robert Brown Chapel, 103 Fourth St., in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in Peaceful Meadows Cemetery in Hillsboro. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary-Robert Brown Chapel.
