Dennis Melvin Miller, 82, of Festus died Sept. 14, 2026, at his home. Mr. Miller was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served aboard the USS Harry E. Yarnell. He later worked for Anheuser-Busch as a maintenance supervisor. He was happiest when working with his hands and could often be found building, repairing or tinkering with something. He had a lifelong love of carpentry and anything mechanical and was especially passionate about cars, learning about them, owning them and building a collection throughout the years. He also enjoyed music, entertaining and, most of all, spending time with family and friends. Born Oct. 8, 1943, in Fulton, he was the son of the late Melvin E. and Sylvia (Halsey) Miller.
He is survived by his wife: Susan Dawn (Asaro) Miller of Festus; a son: Matthew (Leah) Miller of Festus; a daughter: Angie Pottorff of Bentonville, Ark.; and a grandson: Braden Pottorff.
He was preceded in death by a grandson: Chase Pottorff; and a sister: Deborah (Bob) Moed.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 2 p.m. until a memorial service at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Ryan Sutton. Interment will take place at a later date in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
