Blumenberg, Deborah

Deborah Ann (Franken) Blumenberg, 66, of Byrnesville died Feb. 17, 2024, at Mercy Medical Center. Mrs. Blumenberg worked in the family business, Ben H. Franken Construction (BFH), for more than 30 years. She was there during the business’ transition to a woman-owned company and served as a co-owner. Following her time at BHF, she worked as the chief factotum at Budget Blinds. She always stayed involved in some form of community service. She served on the Northwest Library Board during the early years of expansion in High Ridge and Windsor. She has been associated with the House Springs Lions Club for almost 40 years, serving as club president multiple times and then moving up to higher levels of leadership within the Lions Association. She was the first female Governor of District 26-M2, which includes St. Louis City and County, as well as Jefferson and Franklin Counties. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, going to the lake, and drinking a good bottle of wine and a few sips of whiskey from time to time. Born March 28, 1957, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Rose Marie (Geatley) and Ben Franken.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years: Al Blumenberg; two sons: Ben (Emily) and Brad (Kim); four grandchildren: Brayden, Abigail, Andrew and Lucas; a brother: Pat (Ann) Franken; three sisters: Donna (Mike) Mann, Doris (Steve) Voelker and Diane (Tim) Pflanz; and many other family members and friends.

A memorial Mass is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3009 High Ridge Blvd. A celebration of life will follow at Pupillo’s Banquet Center, 3033 High Ridge Blvd. memorials may be made to KidSight Vision Screening for children at kid-sight.org. Used eyeglasses will also be collected at the celebration.
