David Wayne Maxey, 66, of Imperial died Oct. 31, 2023, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis. Mr. Maxey was retired from the United States Postal Service. He served in the U.S. Army First Calvary. He was of the Christian faith. Born Sept. 19, 1957, in Joachim Township. He was the son of Mary Lou (Van Amburg) Roark and Chester Oley Maxey.
He is survived by his ex-wife of nine years: Donna (Ringo) Maxey of Barnhart; two children: Dustin Maxey of Barnhart and Drew Maxey of St. Louis; a brother: John (Peggy) Elliott of Highland, Ill.; four nephews: John (Sarah) Elliott of Arnold, Ryan Elliott, Burke Elliott and Trent Elliott; and a niece: Chloe Elliott.
A memorial service is scheduled for 12:20 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, at Rock Presbyterian Church,6439 US Hwy. 61-67, in Imperial. Arrangements are under the direction of the family.
