David Lee Parks, 78, of Arnold died Feb. 6, 2024. Mr. Parks was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War, 1st Air Cavalry-Company E and 2nd Battalion (Airmobile) 5th Cavalry. He earned the Army Commendation Medal for Heroism and a Purple Heart. Born May 11, 1945, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Mary Kathryn (Kelch) and Leroy Parks.

He is survived by his wife: Linda L. (Vogel) Parks; three children: Craig (Lindsay) Parks, David (Michelle) Parks and Eileen Mares; eight grandchildren: Isaac Parks, Jaedon Parks, Jase Parks, Karsten Parks, Rylan Parks, Benjamin Parks, Kristopher Parks, Christopher Parks, Brandy (Parks) Simpson and Angelo Mares; three siblings: Judi (Frank) Reihn, Michael (Tammy) Parks and Marty (Jim) Smith; and many other family members and friends.

Visitation is scheduled for 10 a.m. until a celebration of life service at noon, Friday, Feb. 16, at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. Burial with full military honors will follow in Shepherd Hills Cemetery, 1925 Hwy. M., in Barnhart. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 11433 Olde Cabin Road, St. Louis, 63141. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home.
