Daniel Wilfred Gangloff, 83, of Belleville, Ill., formerly of Arnold, died Aug. 19, 2025. Mr. Gangloff was a lifetime member of the Letter Carriers Association, a devoted Catholic and volunteer firefighter. He earned the 100,000 Mile Accident-Free Award and the 60-year Letter Carrier Association Award. Born July 28, 1942, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Leona (Christ) Gangloff.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Elsa Gangloff.
He is survived by three children: Cynthia Cassaday, Daniel (Cathy Dietker) Gangloff and Karen (Maurice) Voss; 13 grandchildren: Heather (Chris) Hodges, Holly (Daniel) Wills, Elly (Matthew Hogan) Cassaday, Brandon (Jessica) Cassaday, Daniel (Chelsie) Gangloff, Amy (Tony) Carson, Adam Gangloff, Rachel (Matt) Rakers, Anna (fiance Jacob Vossler) Gangloff, Ryan (Kelly) Eller, Jessica Eller, Lyndsay (Steven) Wallace and Robert Kozik; and 31 great-grandchildren: Ayeaka Cassaday, Rose Cassaday, Eli Wills, Charlotte Wills, Kaitlyn Wills, Evelyn Wills, Isaac Burgess, Noah Burgess, Brandon Burgess, Nathaniel Cassaday, Christopher Beck, Ryan Cassaday, Colton Cassaday, Jasmine Gangloff, Julianna Gangloff, Daxton Gangloff, Jadence Gangloff, Ayla Carson, Azlynn Carson, Charlotte Rakers, Cartes Rakers, Amelia Rakers, Mason Eller, Miles Eller, Cayden Javier, Sawyer White, Eryn Wallace, Emylu Wallace, Everly Wallace, Lily-June Webb and April-Alexis Webb.
He also was preceded in death by two siblings: Janet Warden and Marlyn Wilkinson.
Visitation is scheduled from noon until 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, at the Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at the Holy Family Parish, 2300 Church Road, in Arnold. Pallbearers will be Ryan Eller, Robert Kozik, Steven Wallace, Daniel Gangloff, Adam Gangloff and Brandon Cassaday. Interment will be in the Holy Family Parish Cemetery. Memorials may be made to cancer research or the American Heart Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home.
