Columbus “Wayne” Hopper, 74, of Cedar Hill died June 11, 2026. An entrepreneur at heart, Mr. Hopper owned several bars in St. Louis, where he enjoyed meeting people and creating places for friends and neighbors to gather. He loved both playing and listening to music, with The Beatles holding a special place among his favorites. Whether sharing stories, exploring a new venture or enjoying a favorite song, he was also known to approach life with enthusiasm and a genuine appreciation for the experiences and people around him. He will be remembered for his creativity, love of music, curiosity and adventurous spirit. Born July 7, 1951, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Columbus Thomas Hopper and Fannie (Bishop) Hopper.
He is survived by his wife: Pamela (Renner) Hopper; four children: Damian (Keyla Blanco) Reed, Tiffeny (Billy) Brown, Lindsey (Quentin) Douglas and Lacie Kidd; four grandchildren: Austin (Emily) Brown, Blake (Sophia) Smith, Alyssa (Tyler) Rodgers and Luke Ehrhart; two great-grandchildren: Aurora Smith, Jaxon Smith and one on the way, Griffin Wayne Rodgers; a sister: Paulette Risha; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by three siblings: Loretta (Don) Marts, Annette (Rich) Powell and Birdette (Charlie) Baker; and a brother-in-law: Bob Risha.
A celebration of life is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 11, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
