Chester Eugene Burgett, 82, of High Ridge died June 2, 2025, in House Springs. Mr. Burgett enjoyed traveling, reading, tractors, bluegrass music, helping others, his faith in God and spending time with family and friends. Born Oct. 30, 1942, in Maynard, Ark., he was the son of the late John and Dula Burgett.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years: Sandra Sue (Shocklee) Burgett.
He is survived by two children: Brady Burgett and Cindy (Michael) Horn; four grandchildren: Karlee (George) Schmitt, Devin Horn, Dawson Burgett and Kyndall Burgett; two sisters: Clara Nell Bishop and Eileen Mann; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Gilbert Burgett; and a sister: Ima Mae McKnight.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. today, June 6, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Visitation will continue from 11 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at McNabb Funeral Home, 2129 N Park St., in Pocahontas, Ark. Interment will follow in Palestine Cemetery in Ingram, Ark. Memorials may be made to Open Door Animal Sanctuary, 6065 Duda Road, House Springs, 63051. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
