Cheryl Lynn (Gosney) Fieser, 77, of Byrnes Mill died Oct. 17, 2026. Mrs. Fieser, from an early age, took on the role of a second mother to her brothers and sister, making sure their homework was completed and preparing dinner for them when their parents had to work late. As a teenager, she and her sister, Terry, were members of Job’s Daughters, and she later became a member of the Order of the Eastern Star alongside her mother. She graduated from Fox Senior High School in 1967 and went on to attend Deaconess School of Nursing, where she studied radiology and graduated as an X-ray technician. She later specialized in mammography and dedicated many years to her career before retiring. Throughout her life, she enjoyed snorkeling, making ceramics, crafting, scrapbooking and attending the occasional concert with her niece, Sarah. She also loved traveling and taking vacations with her family, as well as spending time with her longtime group of friends affectionately known as “The Dragons Moms.” She was an avid shopper who especially enjoyed frequent trips to the jewelry store. She lovingly put up with her husband’s shenanigans and embraced the laughter, memories and adventures they shared. She was as devoted to her sons as she had been to her siblings, making sure they had nice clothes to wear, waking up every morning to prepare their breakfast, packing their lunches, sending them off to school before heading to work for a full shift herself. After a long day at work, she would come home and prepare dinner for the family, ready to do it all over again the next day. Often putting their needs before her own, she gave her family her time, her energy and her unconditional love. She also loved spending time with her granddaughter, who shares her middle name, and made it a priority to attend her soccer games. She will be remembered as a natural caregiver, a hardworking woman and a loyal and loving family member. Born Sept. 19, 1949, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Mary Ann (Tefft) Gosney.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years: Glen Edward Fieser.
She is survived by two sons: James Karl Fieser of Byrnes Mill and Jeremy (Angie) Fieser of Byrnes Mill; three siblings: Steve (the late Debbie) Gosney Sr. of De Soto, Terry (the late Dave) Castro of Washington and Dan (Jill) Gosney of Festus; a granddaughter: Madison Lynn Fieser of Byrnes Mill and her boyfriend, Joe Kaiser of Sunset Hills; nieces and nephews: Steven Gosney Jr. of De Soto, Lisa Gosney of High Ridge, Chad Gosney of De Soto, Sarah Crump of Cedar Hill, D.J. Castro of Union and Dawn (Billy) White of Festus; and many other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by two nephews: Eric Castro and Danny Gosney.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 2 p.m. until services at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at Fieser Funeral Home, 401 Gravois Road, in Fenton. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Fieser Funeral Home.
