Charles W. Agers, 84, of De Soto died Jan. 4, 2025. Mr. Agers was the owner of Underwood Hardware Store in De Soto. He served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Church in De Soto and was a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus 1185. Born April 21, 1940, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Alice Elizabeth (Underwood) and Andrew J. Agers.

He is survived by his wife: June (Akins) Agers of De Soto; three children: Chuck (Missy) Agers of De Soto, Kelly (Tom) Muzzey of St. Charles and Jennifer (Corey) Goering of Overland Park, Kan.; eight grandchildren: Mikayla (Al) Montoya, Cole Agers, Logan (Erica) Muzzey, Morgan Muzzey, Connor Agers, A.J. Agers, Evelyn Goering and Oliver Goering; and four great-grandchildren: Luke Agers, Isla Agers, Milo Montoya and Murphy Montoya.

He was preceded in death by four siblings: David Agers, Andrew Agers, Kelly Agers and Lloyd Agers.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at the St. Rose of Lima Church, 504 S. 3rd St., in De Soto, officiated by Father Rodger Fleming. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
