Charles Henry Pierce, 86, of Katy, Texas, formerly of Festus, died Oct. 11, 2024, at Houston Methodist West Hospital in Houston, Texas. Mr. Pierce was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a retired operations supervisor at the ATT Hillsboro facility. He was a member of Our Lady Catholic Church in Festus as well as the Knights of Columbus Council 1230. Born Sept. 27, 1938, in Hillsboro, he was the son of the late Mabel Essie (Leutzinger) and Walter Thomas Pierce.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Patricia Josephine “Pat” (Halberstadt) Pierce.
He is survived by two sons: Thomas (Terese) Pierce of Katy, Texas, and Timothy (Jodi) Pierce of Webster Groves; a daughter: Mary (Timothy) Murphy of College Station, Texas; nine grandchildren: Jacqueline (Tyler) Palzkill, Katherine (Daniel) Boyhan, Abigail Pierce, Margaret Pierce, Ryan Murphy, Megan Murphy, Evan Pierce, Ally Pierce and Emily Pierce; and two brothers: David (Fran) Pierce of Connecticut and James (Beth) Pierce of Pennsylvania.
He also was preceded in death by three sisters: Irene (the late Glenn) Taylor, Erma Lucas and Dolores Dorman.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Our Lady Catholic Church, 1550 St. Mary’s Ln., in Festus, officiated by Fr. Steven Lian. Burial with full military honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the Charles and Patricia Pierce Family Scholarship Fund at St. Pius X High School. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
