Diers, Charleen

 Charleen Marie (Rumpf) Diers, 85, of Fenton died April 16, 2025. Mrs. Diers attended Markus Lutheran Church and grade school. After graduating from high school in 1957, she and her husband were married on Dec. 20, 1958. Together, they loved to travel and visited all 50 states and multiple foreign countries. She was a 1977 Jefferson College graduate and a 1994 Webster University graduate. She also earned her Paralegal Certificate to further her career in the legal departments at Peabody Coal Co. and Anheuser-Busch. She attended Concordia University to become a deaconess in the Lutheran church and was consecrated on Nov. 4, 2001. She started a program at her church to help the unhoused and also visited the elderly at retirement homes. She was known for having a smile on her face and for sharing her kind words with others. She was born on Oct. 18, 1939, in St. Louis.

She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 64 years: Eugene “Gene” Diers.

She is survived by three children: Thomas, Michael and David (Sharon); six grandchildren: Alexandria, Sydnie, Tanner, Grace, Andrew and Faith; and many other family members and friends.

Visitation is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. until a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 3715 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold, 63010. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
