Catherine Marie “Kitty” (Levy) Ebersoldt, 79, of Festus died June 11, 2026. Mrs. Ebersoldt was known as an enthusiastic mother who had a seat at the table for those who needed nourishment, either through a homemade pie, a listening ear or a warm hug. She made an effort to be present for each milestone of her children. She loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren, enjoying octopus hotdogs and root beer or orange soda floats. She could often be found cheering the loudest at her grandsons’ sporting events and applauding enthusiastically at her granddaughters’ concerts. She also enjoyed playing rounds of golf, attending Optimist meetings and going on trips to Beaver Island. Born Nov. 24, 1946, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late John Glennon and Norma Jean (Bauman) Levy.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years: Gary Ebersoldt; two children: Tracy (Steve) Anderson and Vince (Meg) Ebersoldt; four grandchildren: Catheryn (Drew) Hudson, Campbell Ebersoldt, Stella (Kyle) Huey and Levi Ebersoldt; two great-grandchildren: Eleanor and Anderson Hudson; three sisters: Linda Alexander, Magdalene Oates and Mary (Rick) Jones; and three brothers: Daniel Levy, David (Karen) Levy and Edward (Jolene) Levy.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: John G. and William Levy; and two brothers-in-law: Tom Alexander and Edward Oates.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a funeral Mass at noon. Monday, June 15, at Our Lady Catholic Church, 1550 St Mary’s Lane, in Festus, officiated by Father Zac Povis. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery in Bloomsdale. Memorials may be made to The Collins House, Mrs. Ebersoldt’s home during the last two years of her life. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
