Carol Sue Dow, 77, of Hillsboro, formerly of Festus, died July 12, 2025, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Dow was a retired postal worker for the Festus Post Office and a member of Ketha Heights Baptist Church. She was the reigning Farkle Champion. Born April 8, 1948, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Helen Marie (Litton) and Roy Lee Stuthers.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Ervle Dale Dow.
She is survived by a son: Tim Dow of Hillsboro; a brother: David R. (Diane) Stuthers of Festus; three grandchildren: Latisha (Caleb) Trask, Kristin Dow and Zoey Dow; three great-grandchildren: Carter, Charlotte and Carrigan; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She also was preceded in death by a son: Vincent (Darlene survives of Fenton) Dow; and two brothers: Leroy J. Stuthers and Larry Stuthers Sr.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, July 17, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, July 18, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Greg Booher. Burial will follow in Sandy Cemetery of Hillsboro. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
