Brendan (Shomaker) Detter, 27, of De Soto died April 16, 2025. Mr. Detter enjoyed wrestling with nephews and nieces, boxing with his brother and sisters, playing his guitar and watching movies with his mom. He also enjoyed gaming with friends and nephews, skateboarding, fishing and spending time with loved ones. He loved the show Ed, Edd & Eddie and liked to pick on his baby sister. Born Sept. 12, 1997, in St. Louis, he was the son of Mable Detter of De Soto.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three siblings: Jacob Detter, Taylor M. James and Kolbie Emily, all of De Soto; two nieces: Heaven Lee Hope Shomaker and Melayla Raylynn May Shomaker; two nephews: Luke Arthur Gaston and Jase Ayden James; other close family members: Baylee and Drew Poe and Derrick Emily; and close friends: Heather Whitby, David Eads, Zac Smith, Shane Nash, Cody and Cory Coleman, Aron and Caleb Cromwell, Dante Watters and Mitcheal Fisk.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Virginia and Jerry Detter and Melvin and Alline Shomaker; an uncle: Randy Gaston; a brother: Holden Detter; and a brother-in-law: Gary James.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 p.m. until a funeral service at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto, officiated by Pastor Troy Coke. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
