Carron, Boyd

Boyd Douglas John Anthony Carron, 89, of Pevely died Nov. 3, 2025, at Crystal Oaks in Crystal City. Mr. Carron worked as a machinist for McDonnell Douglas for 41 years. He liked being outdoors, gardening and maintaining lawns. He enjoyed helping with events at the old Assumption Church in Herculaneum and playing cards, preferably Pitch. He also appreciated an ice-cold can of Stag beer. Born Sept. 24, 1936, in Crystal City, he was the son of the late Ethel (Hewitt) and Amos Carron.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Olive Baker (Fleischer) Carron.

He is survived by two children: Boyd “Dougie” (Shanna Sagehorn) Carron of De Soto and Stephanie (Ron) Smith of Pevely; three grandchildren: Leah (Matthew) Smith of Festus, Taylor Carron of St. Louis and Lane (Eliu) Fritzsche of San Diego, Calif.; two great grandchildren: Jeffrey Smith and Sawyer Smith, both of Festus; two brothers: Frank (Gayle) Carron of Arnold and Mark (Ruth) Carron of Festus; two sisters: Chloe DeClue of De Soto and Yvonne (Eugene) Beasley of St. Peters; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He also was preceded in death by two brothers: John Frederick “Freddy” (Sharon survives of Bismarck) Carron and Paul (Judy survives of Oakland Park, Fla.) Carron; a sister-in-law: Helen Marlene Govreau; a brother-in-law: Adolph Pierre “Sonny” Govreau; a mother-in-law: Olive “Ollie” Baker Fleischer; and father-in-law: Otto Fleischer.

A memorial gathering is scheduled from 10 a.m. until services at noon Tuesday, Nov. 18, at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home, 9115 Commercial Blvd., in Pevely. Interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Open Door Animal Sanctuary. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home.
