Boyer, Beverly

Beverly May (Stahl) Boyer, 79, of De Soto died July 29, 2025. Mrs. Boyer spent many years as a cosmetologist, where she made countless friends. Her “claim to fame” and some of her proudest memories involved hairstyling for several Miss America contestants during her time at the J.C. Penney Beauty Salon, when the pageant was held in St. Louis. She loved spending time with her family, especially her son, and is remembered for her guidance, patience, kindness and generosity. She was known for being ready with a hug, a listening ear or a home-cooked meal. Born Dec. 11, 1945, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy (Gray) and Earl Stahl.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years: Wayne Burnell Boyer, whom she married Oct. 21, 1967, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crystal City; a son: Gary Wayne (Uriel) Boyer of Hillsboro; two granddaughters: Cari Lynn (Victor Lopez) Miles of Hillsboro and Courtney Renee (Slade) Rousan of Desloge; a grandson: Cody Wayne Boyer of Hillsboro; a great-grandson: Henry Wayne Lee Rousan of Desloge; and a brother: Bob (Donna) Stahl of Crystal City.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Donnie Stahl and Gary Stahl.

A memorial gathering is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, at Chapel Hill Mortuary-Robert Brown Chapel, 103 Fourth St., in Hillsboro. A private burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary-Robert Brown Chapel.
