Beverly Marie Gansner, 79, of Festus died Feb. 28, 2026, at her home. Mrs. Gansner graduated from Harding University and worked as a P.E. teacher and coach for three years before having children and becoming a substitute teacher in the Festus and Herculaneum school districts for more than 50 years. She was an active member of the Twin City Church of Christ and a board member of the Corozal Church of Christ Primary School in Belize for almost 20 years, where she took many mission trips. She spent her free time playing pickleball, golfing, traveling and cheering on her grandkids. Born Aug. 25, 1946, in Gainesville, she was the daughter of the late Frankie Marie (Martin) and Harley Ray Shanks.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years: Richard Lloyd Gansner; two daughters: Carrie (Randy) Davis of Hermitage, Tenn., and Christy (Andrew) Hueter of Festus; five grandchildren: Alexander Ray (Skylar) Davis, Blake Douglas Davis, Jackson Derek Hueter, Ella Marie Hueter and Vivian Rae Hueter; a great-granddaughter: Everleigh Sky Davis; and a sister: Barbara (the late Joe) Perez of Tampa, Fla.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Visitation will resume from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, at Twin City Church of Christ, 11780 Hwy. CC, in Festus. Interment will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
