Betty Jean Farrar, 77, of De Soto died Nov. 22, 2025, at her home. Mr. Farrar was a member of First Baptist Church in De Soto and of the Red Hat Society. Born August 6, 1948, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Ethel (Bohle) Eberhard.
She is survived by her husband: John Farrar Jr. of De Soto; three children: David (Diane Mayer) Maurer of Las Vegas, Nev., Joseph C. Maurer III of Baltimore, Md., and Jennifer Maurer of Maryland Heights; two grandchildren: Cameron Maurer and Kierston Maurer; a sibling: Shirley (the late Bob) Leahy of Wentzville; and many other family members and friends.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 p.m. until a funeral service at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Gene Smith. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, to arrive at the Resurrection Cemetery in St. Louis for a graveside service at 11 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
