Berttie Lou Foster, 80, of Festus died Nov. 5, 2024, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Mrs. Foster worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. She enjoyed painting, doing crafts and, most of all, spending time with her family and friends. She was inducted into the Puxico High School Volleyball Hall of Fame. She also was a member of Sandy Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Born Feb. 14, 1944, in Puxico, she was the daughter of the late Arnold Miller and Opal (Harper) Miller.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years: Archie Huston Foster of Festus, whom she married on Sept. 8, 1962, in Puxico; two sons: Rich (Deb) Foster of Columbia, Ill., and Gentry (Ginger) Foster of Wildwood; a brother: Roger (Linda) Miller of Puxico; a sister: Nancy Foster of Festus; five grandchildren: Darbie, Mark and Drew Foster, Cody Rummerfield and Ella Dolle; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother: James Miller; and a sister: Doris Hoggard.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.
