Beril Carl Gillman, 86, of Ramsey, Ill., died March 20, 2026. Mr. Gillman retired from Barry-Wehmiller Industries after years of service. In his younger years, he was known as a talented softball player and, throughout his life, enjoyed a good game of golf. He had a passion for swing dancing and was an active member of the Moolah Shrine Swing Dance Club of St. Louis. He also enjoyed travelling with his wife, spending time with family and friends, working on model trains, admiring fast muscle cars and savoring simple pleasures such as fried fish and homemade pies. He also was a member of Algabil Freedom Masonic Lodge No. 636 and the Moolah Shriners of St. Louis. He will be remembered for his love of family, lively spirit on the dance floor, dedication to his work and community organizations and the many friendships he made. Born Oct. 17, 1939, in Hillsboro, he was the son of the late Richard and Lucille (Huskey) Gillman.
He is survived by his wife: Linda Warner Gillman, whom he married on June 27, 2018; four children: Deb Masson, William (Kathy) Gillman, Todd (Lisa) Moreland and Jeremy Moreland; 11 grandchildren: Brian Bingaman, Brittany (Dave) Crump, Brett Bingaman, Ashley Masson, Haley Masson, Amanda (Colin) Groves, Melissa (David) Francis, Garrett (fiancee Katelyn) Gillman, Kristen (Mike) Simpson, Shannon (fiance Andrew) Winter and Jax Moreland; 13 great-grandchildren; two siblings: Glenda Christakos and Joyce Anderson; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by seven siblings: Imogene (Charlie) James, Brenda (John) Phillips, Gail (Harold) Kellerman, Richard Gillman, Wayne Gillman, Terry Gillman and Sandra (Ken) Dorner; and a son-in-law: Don Masson.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at the First Baptist Church, 2756 Hwy. 51, in Ramsey, Ill., officiated by Pastor Jeff Shouse. Burial will follow in Ramsey Cemetery in Ramsey, Ill. Memorials may be made to the Moolah Shriners in St. Louis. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller Funeral Home in Ramsey, Ill.
