Barbara A. Hultberg, 84, of De Soto died July 29, 2024. Mrs. Hultberg was a retired case supervisor at the Division of Family Services. Over the years, she was a dedicated member and served in many positions, including president, with the Ladies Auxiliary at the De Soto Elks Lodge 689. She loved cats, traveling and especially going on cruises. She enjoyed singing, auto racing, fishing, as well as other sports. Most of all, she loved being with family, friends and having a great time. She will be remembered for being a wonderful friend and a force to be reckoned with. Born Oct. 7, 1939, in Whittier, Calif., she was the daughter of the late Pearl (Emory) and Earl Wold.
She is survived by her husband: Paul Hultberg of De Soto; two children: Kevin (Sharon) Hultberg of De Soto and Kathy Roubidoux of Festus; a sibling: Brad (Debbie) Wold of Sparks, Nev.; two sisters-in-law: Carolyn Wold of Vacaville, Calif., and Geri Hultberg of Potosi; two grandchildren: Matt (Katie) Hultberg of Hillsboro and Luke (Corey) Roubidoux of Honolulu, Hawaii; and two great-grandchildren: Bradlee Foster and Lacie Hultberg.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 5 p.m. until a memorial service at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Dr. G. Michael Rose. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, De Soto Elks Lodge 689, or Serenity Hospice Care. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
