Ann (Wright) Allen, 87, of St. Louis died June 10, 2025, in Fredericktown. Mrs. Allen was known for her vibrant curiosity. A lover of the arts, she found joy in movies and live shows. She was passionate about reading and biography programs, as she was fascinated with the human experience. An English history buff, she valued the power of words and the language. She also enjoyed traveling and was eager to explore new places and perspectives. She will be remembered for her sparky spirit. Born June 14, 1937, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Dorothy (Lynch) Wright.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Wilbert Allen.
She is survived by two children: Deborah Ann (Richard) Bicklein and Mark Steven Allen; 11 grandchildren: Matt (Sandra) Bicklein, Corey (Sarah) Bicklein, Michael (Dawn) Bicklein, Melissa (William) Anderson, Tricia (Keith) Curtis, Meaghan (Ken) Simmons, Kelsey (Alex) Bicklein, Ben Bicklein, Clayton (Megan) Bicklein, Lynn (Eric) Jost and Jamie (Mathew) Allen; a sibling: Shirley (Joe) Spoto; 18 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by three grandchildren: Isaac Bicklein, Andy Davis and Ariel Bicklein.
Visitation is scheduled from 5 p.m. until services at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Burial will be held at a later date in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
