Andrew Scott Huffman, 52, of De Soto died Feb. 21, 2024, at his home. Mr. Huffman was a 1990 graduate of De Soto High School. He was an electrician by trade and had worked on rehabbing homes in the De Soto area. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing golf and listening to music. He had especially enjoyed performing in the choirs at De Soto High School and while attending Jefferson College. He enjoyed time spent at all the family activities at the Huffman Family Farm. Born Feb. 14, 1972, in Crystal City, he was the son of Karen Jean (Caldwell) and Edgar Frank Huffman of De Soto.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two children: Alec Caldwell Huffman of Cape Girardeau and Molly Kate Huffman of De Soto; a sibling: Amy (Dan) Hickman of De Soto; a grandmother: Doris Caldwell Hale of De Soto; two nephews: Wyatt and Carson Hickman; three aunts: Brenda Halton of De Soto, Stella (Randy) Hyde of Imperial and Ginger (Mark) Blake of Derby, Kan.; an uncle: Rod (Karen) Caldwell of De Soto; a friend: Claudia Torres Pena of Madrid, Spain; his dog: Penny; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by grandparents: Howard Caldwell, Frank and Bessie Lou Huffman; and an uncle: Larry Halton.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 1 p.m. until a memorial service at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, 1004 Rock Road, in De Soto. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research or St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
