Allan Lewis Jones, 79, of Festus died May 28, 2024, at John Cochran VA Medical Center in St. Louis. Mr. Jones was a member of the Heart of the Apostles Fellowship. He was self-employed and in sales. During his service with the Navy, he was a Spanish linguist for the U.S. Naval Security Group. He enjoyed playing the piano and traveling. Born Sept. 2, 1944, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Virginia (Lewis) and William Jewell Jones.
He is survived by his wife: Terri (Gurnow) Jones; a son: Zach Jones of Festus; a sister: Donna (Bill) Stevens of Creve Coeur; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Diana O’Sullivan.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a memorial service at 1 p.m. Monday, June 10, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Terry Crank. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
