Albert Edward “Ed” Agers, 84, Festus

Albert Edward “Ed” Agers, 84, of Festus, previously of De Soto, died June 28, 2023, in St. Louis. Mr. Agers was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union. He was a graduate of De Soto High School, where he ran track and played football. In 1975, he went to Alaska where he lived for 26 years and worked for Alyeska Pipeline Co. on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. In 2001, he retired to the Branson area where he built a home on Table Rock Lake and named the road to his home Alyeska Point. In 2016, he moved to Festus to be near his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Festus-Crystal City, where he was active in the Sunday school class. He loved spending time with his family, particularly his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed going to the movies, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, baking cakes from scratch for his Bible study group and playing with his dog Koko. His favorite activity was going to amusement parks to ride roller coasters. Born March 4, 1939, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Lillian “Marie” (Secrets) and Albert Ellis Agers.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Darlene (Dewolf) Agers.

He is survived by his two children with Carol (Whaley) Agers: Christine Michelle (Agers) Francis of St. Louis and Brian (Nichole) Edward Agers of Cedar Hill; four granddaughters: Brittany (John) Blake, Lauren (Joshua) Jones, and Maddison and Julia Agers; and two grandsons: Andrew (Kaylee) Francis and Asher Agers.

He was preceded in death by a son: Allen Olen Agers; and two brothers: Robert Agers and Marshall Agers.

A celebration of life will be held later. Arrangements are under the direction of Michel Funeral Home in St. Louis.
