Alan Dale Beckman, 65, of De Soto died March 20, 2025, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Beckman served in the U.S. Army. Born Nov. 6, 1959, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Verne Edgar and Elizabeth Gertrude (Sebastian) Beckman.
He is survived by seven children: Renee Chootanon of Pevely, Alan Dale (Tiffini) Beckman II of De Soto, Tyrone Chester of St. Louis, Josh Chester of Crystal City, Jason Chester of Crystal City, Thomas Chester of Crystal City and Michael James of Festus; three siblings: Linda Standefer of De Soto, Karen Magyer of St. Clair and Joyce McCarty of Van Cleve, Miss.; seven grandchildren: Preedee, Logan, Shawn, Kayli, Destini, Chloe and Alli; a great-grandson: Zayne; and another great-grandchild on the way.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday, March 28, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Troy Coke. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
