Donna L. Smith, 64, of De Soto died April 18, 2023, at her home. She was a corrections officer with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and was a member of the Amvets Post 48 Ladies Auxiliary and Amvets Riders Chapter 48. She loved the St. Louis Cardinals; Doris Day, Elvis Presley and her cats. She was born June 28, 1958, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late William R. Smith Sr. and Ruby (Stockdale) Smith Gibson.
She is survived by two sisters: Sheilah Ann (Andy) Hahn of De Soto and Tina Renee (David) Lawson of Atlanta, Ga.; two stepbrothers: Ron Gibson and Jerry Gibson; nieces and nephews: Michelle (Jason) Cain, Tracy (Adam) Culley, Jamie (Darin) Clubbs, Chad and Davynie (Chuck) Johnson, Tiffany Smith, Christopher (Kerri) Mileski, Kristie (Paul) Konecik and David (Ashley), Danielle (Rob), Michael and Brandon (Jenna) Lawson; great-nieces and great-nephews: Macie and Carter Cain, Ava Culley, Jett and Dexx Clubbs, Grace and Lillian Johnston, Allysa, Logan, Sydney and Bryce Johnson, Devon, Skylar and Savannah Smith, Christopher and Kolce Mileski, Abby and Devon Konecik and Chase, Bryce, Ella, Megan, Emma and Gracie Hope Lawson; and her best friend: Marian McDonald.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather: Kenneth E. Gibson; three brothers: twins Mitchell and Michael Smith and William Ray Smith Jr.; and a stepbrother: Kenneth E. Gibson Jr.
A memorial service was held April 22 at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery, De Soto. Arrangements were under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, De Soto.
