Delores Hamel, 90, of De Soto died May 30, 2023, in De Soto. Ms. Hamel was a homemaker. Born Oct. 19, 1932, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late Ova (Rider) and Ferman McAnally. She was preceded in death by her husband: Harold Roswell Hamel.
She is survived by two children: Donna (Kenny) Bahr of Festus and Terry (Carol) Hamel of High Ridge; five grandchildren: Cody (Leslie) Bahr, Carley (Joel) Pruetting, Nathan Hamel, Cara (Nick) Barthelmass and Libby Hamel; and six great-grandchildren: Charley Bahr, Colton Bahr, Jet Pruetting, Jemma Pruetting, Lyla Barthelmass and Zachary Barthelmass. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Valera (Walter) Shepard and Grace (Bern) Rousan; and five brothers: Carless (Lora Mae) McAnally, Bob (Lavena) McAnally, Leon (Sue) McAnally, LeRoy (JoAnn survives) McAnally and James (June) McAnally.
A funeral service was held June 3 at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto, officiated by Father Gregory Klump. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements were under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
