Carolyn Elaine Pierce, 74, of Festus died May 2, 2023, at de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis County. Mrs. Pierce was a secretary for 21 years at Festus High School, where she was known for greeting students with her smile. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Festus/Crystal City and a big fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals. Born March 21, 1949, in Ironton, she was the daughter of the late Marie Elizabeth (Waller) and James “Jack” Lowe.
She is survived by her husband: David Pierce of Festus; a son: Doug (Linda) Pierce of Festus; a daughter: Natalie (Andrew) Turner of Santa Clarita, Calif.; six grandchildren: Austin Pierce, Alexandria (Robert) Brewer, Nadia Turner, Ruby Turner, Alec Turner and Alfie Turner; a great-grandson: James Brewer; and two siblings: Phyllis “Sissy” (Ron) Seabeaugh of Cape Girardeau and Dennis Lowe of Jackson
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at noon Monday, May 8, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main, in Festus, officiated by Pastor Thomas Worsham and Pastor Raymond Laramore. Burial is in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the de Greeff Hospice House or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
