Radaecker, Ann

Ann Amelia (Friebel) Radeackar, 69, of Cedar Hill died Sept. 13, 2023, in Cedar Hill. Mrs. Radeackar worked alongside her husband at their family grocery store, Radeackar’s Market. Mrs. Radeacker was a talented seamstress with the ability to create everything from intricate wedding dresses to her grandchildren’s Halloween costumes. She enjoyed many other crafts and skills, such as woodworking and basket weaving, and was generous in teaching those skills to others. She also enjoyed shopping for antiques. She was involved in a wide variety of activities such as riding motorcycles and three-wheelers, waterskiing, and roller skating, even playing on a roller hockey team. She is remembered for her witty sense of humor with a bit of an ornery side, and for her dedication and selflessness. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Born June 26, 1954, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Viola (Burgan) and William Friebel.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years: George “Jerry” Radeackar; a daughter: Katie Ann (Teddy) Potter; three grandchildren: Magnus Potter, George Potter and August Potter; a brother: William (Karen) Friebel; and numerous extended family members and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. A private family graveside service will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Shriners Children’s Hospital of St. Louis or the Children’s Hospital of St. Louis. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
