Harry G. Borgfield, 91, of Festus died Oct. 23, 2023. Mr. Borgfield was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and worked in the staff judge advocate’s office for 22 years. He began his career at the Pentagon and retired from Scott Air Force Base. After his retirement, he worked for United Van Lines. Born July 31, 1932, in Jackson, he was the son of Agnes and Elmer Borgfield.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years: Patricia (Clark) Borgfield; three daughters: Karen (Kevin) Harrison, Cheryl (the late Bob) Hardt and Brenda (Steven) Newcombe; eight grandchildren: Sean (Michelle) Harrison, Ryan (Megan) Harrison, Zachary (Lacey) Ebert, Joshua (Monica) Eday, Alisha Gay, Heather (Gary Gendron) Gay, Daniel (Michelle Rutledge) Newcombe and Rebecca (Timothy) Brown; a brother: Cletus (the late Ethyl) Borgfield; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Elsie Gerecke.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until services at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. Burial with full military honors will follow at the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the food pantry fund at First United Methodist Church in Festus. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home.
