Robert Alvin Held, 90, of Festus
Robert Alvin Held, 90, of Festus died Jan. 8, 2026, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Held retired as a bonder from McConnell Douglas. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, playing horseshoes and washers and gathering with family and friends for card games. He was known for his warmth and kindness. He was a member of Radiant Life Church in Festus. Born Sept. 26, 1935, in Illmo, he was son of the late Alvin Held and Vera (McGhee) Held.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years: Frances “Arlene” (Roberts) Held of Festus; a brother: Fred (Tracy) Held; two sisters: Sharon (Mark Hilleman of North Little Rock, Ark. and Donna (Ronnie) Carr of Oran; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Thomas (Bernice) Held; and five sisters: Betty (Raymond) Miller, Virginia (Ed) Schivitz, Delores (Norman) Morrill, Dorothy (Kenny) Inglvason and Debbie (Brian) Gill.
Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, until the service at 1 p.m. at Mahn Funeral Home Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Drive, Festus, with Randy Gray officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
