Kevin Tremayne Smith, 51, of De Soto died at his home on March 23, 2025. Mr. Smith was a member of the Bricklayers’ Union Local 1 of Missouri, AFL-CIO and St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church in De Soto. He was active in Pony Bird and the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce. He was a huge Peyton Manning fan. He enjoyed cooking, singing, dancing, fishing, supporting high school and college sports and most importantly, spending time with family and friends. Born Feb. 18, 1974, in Dunn, N.C., he was the son of the late Karen E. Smith and Nathaniel McKeithan.
He is survived by his wife: Tara (Harper) Smith of De Soto; his five children: Areena K. Smith of Springfield, Sebastian A. Smith of De Soto, Mackenzie L. Jones of De Soto, Ashlynn E. Jones of De Soto and Sophia A. Norman of De Soto; and many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, April 2, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main St., De Soto. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 3, at the Mahn Funeral Home Chapel with Patrick Propst officiating. Memorials may be sent to Fountain City Grille, 4460 Yeager Road, Hillsboro, 63050. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
