Norma June Burns, 87, of Festus died Feb. 17, 2020, at her home. Mrs. Burns attended De Soto First Assembly Of God, where she was active with the Missionettes. She was a longtime member of the “Pink Ladies” Auxiliary at Jefferson Memorial Hospital and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading, gardening, attending church and her cats, Bonnie and Clyde. She was born Nov. 21, 1932, in Sikeston, the daughter of the late Arley and Alta (Smith) Jines. She was preceded in death by her husband: Stanley Burns.

She is survived by a son: David (Debbie) Burns of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; four daughters: Sandra (the late Carl) Dyle of Herculaneum, Diana (the late Jerry) Manley of Pevely, Kathy (Joseph) Liverar of Festus and Robin (Tom) Mackey of Chesterfield; a brother: Ronnie Jines of Ste Genevieve; four sisters: Barbara Brown of Bonne Terre, Nancy Rhinehart of Ste Genevieve, Pamela Sawa of Ste Genevieve and Sheri Okema of Las Vegas, Nev.; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers: James Obenaeur, Richard Jines and Jerry Jines; four sisters: Mary Slade, Joyce McCoy, Peggy Wilkerson and Virginia Shellgrow; and a great-grandson: Dawson Wayne Liverar.

Visitation is at 11 a.m. until a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at De Soto First Assembly of God, 12635 Hwy. 21, officiated by Pastor Ronald Duncan. Burial will take place at a later date in the Charter Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4207 Lindell Blvd. St. Louis, 63108. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.
