Norma Jean Gibbar, 88, of Arnold died Dec. 7, 2021. Ms. Gibbar was a devout Catholic and spent more than 20 years as a Sisters of the Precious Blood nun under the name of Sister Christine Marie. After she left the order, she spent many years as a teacher at St. Joseph Catholic School in Imperial until her retirement. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, reading and more, but the most important aspect of her life was her relationship with Jesus Christ and her church. She was born July 30, 1933, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Leroy and Mildred (Barnes) Gibbar.
She is survived by many extended family members and friends.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, at Assumption Catholic Church, 4709 Mattis Road, in south St. Louis County. Burial is in the Assumption Parish Cemetery. Memorials may be made by contributing to the donor’s local Catholic parish. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell Funeral Home in Pacific.
