Nathan M. “Nate” Myers, 67, of De Soto died Aug. 6, 2020, at his home. Mr. Myers was retired from the De Soto Parks Department and Antonia Fire Protection District and was serving on the Valle Ambulance Board of Directors and the De Soto Rural Fire Department Board of Directors. He was born July 19, 1953, in LaPorte, Ind., the son of the late Dorothy (Meek) and George B. Myers III.
He is survived by his wife: Irene (Gunnett) Myers of De Soto; two children: James Hasty and John (Regina) Hasty, both of De Soto; three siblings: Lurinda McNabb, George “Butch” (Shirley) Myers IV and Ina (John) Peach; three grandchildren: Joshua and Alicia Hasty and Cynthia (Danny) Bowers; six great-grandchildren: Alex, Stacy, Hunter, Pamela, Buck and Nathan; and a cousin: Mickey Buthler, and her children, Mike and Terri Monken.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Rex Myers and David Myers; a sister: Edith Olmstead; and a great-grandchild: Isabella Grace.
A funeral service was held Aug. 10 at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto, officiated by Brother Carl McKalip. Burial was in the Mt. Olive Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
