Nancy M. Apple, 90, of De Soto died Aug. 18, 2020, at Hillcrest Care Center in De Soto. Mrs. Apple was a teacher, retired from the De Soto School District, and was a member of Park View Baptist Church in De Soto. Born Jan. 30, 1930, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late Harold Hearst and Sarah Mabel (Akins) Kingsland. She was preceded in death by her husband: Shelby Boone Apple.
She is survived by two stepchildren: Loyd (Karen) Apple of Pacific and Bonnie Kingsland of De Soto; two siblings: Lilly Huskey and David Bernice Kingsland, both of De Soto; two grandchildren: Col. Richard (Judy) Apple USAF of Las Vegas, Nev., and Linda Apple of Pacific; nine grandchildren: Matthew, Katherine, Stephanie, Sarah, Kevin, Joshua, Jeremiah, Jonathon and Julia; two great-great grandchildren: Charlie and Kathryn; and numerous other family members.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Frank Kingsland; by a brother-in-law: Donald Huskey; and a sister-in-law: Buddy Kingsland.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. until a funeral service at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at Park View Baptist Church, 1513 Hillcrest Dr., in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Mike Blank. Burial is in the Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to Park View Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
