Nadine Christopher, 89, of De Soto died Sept. 2, 2016, at Fountainbleau Nursing Center in Festus. Mrs. Christopher was a cashier for Gannon’s IGA, a cook for St. Rose of Lima Catholic School and a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Born Jan. 11, 1927, in Joplin, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Hattie (Belk) Harston.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Sidney Christopher.

She is survived by five children: Rebecca “Becky” (Wayne) Bliss of Plantation, Fla., Robert “Bob” (Cindy) Christopher of De Soto, the Rev. Patrick Christopher of Chesterfield, Tim (Colleen) Christopher of O’Fallon and Tom (Connie) Christopher of De Soto; nine grandchildren: Sean (Stephanie) Bliss, Julie (David) White, John (Joy) Pinson and James, Mike, Jesse, Aidan, Colin and Caroline Christopher; and seven great-grandchildren: Samantha, Alyssa, Dylan, Brooks, John Michael, Ava and Tyler.

She was preceded in death by a sister: Josephine Rulon; and five brothers: Donald, Roy, Harold, Francis and James Harston.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 10, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 504 S. Third St., in De Soto, officiated by Father Patrick Christopher. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 9370 Olive Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63132 or the American Heart Association, 460 N. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63141. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
