Myrtle Alice Mahn, 82, of De Soto died Aug. 27, 2016, in Crystal City. Mrs. Mahn was a jewelry salesperson at Famous Barr and owned Presents from the Past in De Soto. She was a founding member of Gateway Carnival Glass Club, a volunteer at Mercy Hospital Gift Shop and a president of Pink Ladies Altar Guild at Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she was a member. She also was a member of WELCA, and she enjoyed gardening, flowers and bird watching.
Born Feb. 2, 1934, in Water Valley, Miss., she was the daughter of the late Buford and Rose Alice (Larkin) Henderson. She was preceded in death by her husband: Bernard Mahn Jr.
She is survived by one son: Biff (Gale) Mahn of Hillsboro; four daughters: Debbie (Fred) DeGeare of De Soto, Vicki Jackson of Plano, Texas, Beth (Jimmy) Ross of De Soto and Barb Rein of Ellington, Conn.; one brother: B.T. (Francine) Henderson of De Soto; one sister: Sally (the late Carl) Jett of Lebanon, Tenn.; eleven grandchildren: Rachel (Todd) Mullis, Denise (Kevin) Klein, Derick (Kelly Hitt) DeGeare, Jake (Kasey) Jackson, J.P. (Courtney Cooper) Mahn, Gabe (Shawnee) Mahn, Jessica Dickemann, Alyse (Matt) Webber, Christopher Rein, Mathew Rein and Michael Rein; eight great-grandchildren: Sean (Hilda) Mullis, Danielle Mullis, Colton Mullis, Caleb Klein, Lilly Klein, Colin Jackson, Carter Jackson and Harlold Hitt-DeGeare; special friend: Virginia Lee Isgrigg of De Soto; and special dog: K.J. She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Buddy Henderson, Teddy Henderson and Melvin (Maude) Henderson; and one sister: Bonita (Toby) Reynolds.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 30, at Mahn De Soto Chapel, 900 N. Main St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, at Mahn De Soto Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Gene Moses and Pastor Mike Rose. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in De Soto.
