Myrna Kay Addis, 76, of Piedmont, formerly of De Soto, died Nov. 5, 2019, in Piedmont. Mrs. Addis was the owner and operator of Myrna Kay’s Convenience Store. Born Feb. 24, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Roxie Ellen (Miller) and Thomas Ralph Hopson.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Ray Addis.
She is survived by two sons: Mark Addis of Festus and Michael (Janet) Addis of Bonne Terre; two siblings: Terry Stewart of Mt. Zion, Ill., and Marilyn Motley of Bonne Terre; five grandchildren: Nicole Marie Ives, Brandon Aaron Addis, Brittany Danielle Addis, Zachary Dalton Handy and Logan Raeann (Josh) Pratt; and four great-grandchildren: Hayden Michael Ives, Josalyn Nicole Ives, Brynnin Alyssa Pratt and Adelyn Marie McKenzie.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a daughter: Sherri Dawn Handy; a brother: Kerry Lynn Hopson; and a grandson: Bryan Alan Addis.
A memorial gathering will be from 11 a.m. until the memorial service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at Mount Olive Methodist Church, 13675 Mount Olive Road, in De Soto, officiated by Pastor Dean Sharp. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
