Mildred June Whitener, 85, of Imperial died May 1, 2021, in Imperial. Mrs. Whitener was a carrier and clerk for the U.S. Postal Service. Born April 3, 1936, in Saco, she was the daughter of the late Eithel and Lester Skaggs.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Arthur Whitener.
She is survived by a son: David (Debbie) Whitener of Bryan, Texas; a daughter: Deena (Billy) Truka of Imperial; a sister: Betty Noonan of St. Charles; a brother: Bill (Donna) Skaggs of Saco; six grandchildren: Halee, Brian, Josh, Justin, Jordan and Jesika; and three great-grandchildren: Brayden, Addison and Aliyah.
She was preceded in death by two sons: Doug and Darrell Whitener; and a sister: Dean Thompson.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, at Kutis Funeral Home, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 6, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Marcus Memorial Cemetery in Fredericktown. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
