Michael J. "Mike" Obermoeller, 77, of Byrnes Mill died Feb. 5, 2022, at his home. Mr. Obermoeller was employed by various engineering companies, retiring from ITW Signode Corp. after 24 years as a service engineer. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, boating, playing sports, being outside, going to the lake and having breakfast at diners with friends. Born Nov. 5, 1944, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Agnes (Berndsen) and Harry Obermoeller.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Joan L. (Stobie) Obermoeller, whom he married April 1, 1967; as well as three children: Tim (Crista) Obermoeller, Tom (fiancee Amy) Obermoeller and Carrie (Jeff) Catalano; five grandchildren: Trent and Blake Obermoeller, Tyler and Brandon Catalano and Clara Weston; two sisters: Barbara (the late Russell) Pautler and Bonni (Dan) Gogel; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son: John Obermoeller.
A celebration of life will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday (March 6) at Tapawingo National Golf Club, 13001 Gary Player Drive, in St. Louis County. Memorials may be made to ProMedica Hospice Memorial Fund, 444 N. Summit St., Toledo, OH, 43604. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
