Michael Elmer “Mike” Ziegelmeyer, 75, of Farmington died April 23, 2022, at his home. Mr. Ziegelmeyer was a Vietnam War veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Farmington. He was an avid coin and gun collector and enjoyed visiting historical sites and monuments. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, vacationing and spending time with his family. Born Feb. 24, 1947, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Molly (Burchett) and Clarence J. Ziegelmeyer.
He is survived by his wife: Janette (Darian) Ziegelmeyer of Farmington; a daughter: Michele (Roger) Breakfield of Farmington; two sons: Michael D. (Heather) Ziegelmeyer and Jason Ziegelmeyer, both of Farmington; a brother: Clarence J. (Jane) Ziegelmeyer of Florida; a half sister: Cheryl (the late Kenneth) Reed of Barnhart; and eight grandchildren: Cody M. Ziegelmeyer, Justin D. Ziegelmeyer, Wyatt Ziegelmeyer, Cassadee Ziegelmeyer, Gracie Ziegelmeyer, Garrett Ziegelmeyer, Zach Breakfield and Kennedy Breakfield.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Molly Ziegelmeyer.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 29, at the funeral home, officiated by Father William Thess. Burial is in the St. Paul Cemetery in Farmington. Memorials may be made to the American Heart and Lung Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
